Discover More About the Museum

Explore Rakowiecka 37 with a Guide

The Museum is currently under development, with conservation and restoration work continuing across the historic prison complex. To ensure both safety and the best visitor experience, all visits are conducted exclusively as guided tours. During the tour, you will explore the accessible parts of the former prison and discover the history of one of Poland’s most important places of remembrance.

Book Your Guided Tour

To ensure the best possible experience, guided tours in English are available by prior reservation only. This allows us to arrange for a guide who will lead your tour in English.

To book your visit, please contact us by e-mail or phone. Our team will confirm your preferred date and time and provide any additional information you may need before your visit.

Guided tours are available Tuesday to Sunday at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

If you have any questions before your visit, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

What to Expect During Your Visit

Your guided tour will take you through both the historic prison buildings and the outdoor areas of the former prison complex. Along the way, you will see key locations connected with the history of Rakowiecka Prison, including the Execution Wall and the site where the gallows once stood.

The Museum also hosts a wide range of temporary exhibitions, allowing visitors to explore different aspects of twentieth-century Polish history. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to discover these exhibitions and gain a deeper understanding of the people and events that shaped Poland’s struggle for freedom.

Throughout the tour, your guide will bring the history of Rakowiecka Prison to life, explaining the stories of those imprisoned within its walls and placing them in the broader context of Poland’s history.

As the Museum presents difficult historical events and themes, guided tours are recommended for visitors aged 13 and over.
