Additional Information
- Physical Accessibility
The Museum of the Cursed Soldiers and Political Prisoners of the Polish People’s Republic (under organisation)
Rakowiecka 37
02-521 Warsaw
Poland
The Museum is easily accessible by public transport. Rakowiecka Street connects with Niepodległości Avenue and Puławska Street, two of Warsaw’s main transport routes. The Pole Mokotowskie metro station (Metro Line 1), as well as several tram and bus stops, are located approximately 400 metres from the Museum entrance. Tram services also run along Rakowiecka Street, providing convenient connections to Warsaw city centre, Mokotów and other districts.
Access to the Museum grounds is provided directly from Rakowiecka Street through the main entrance gate, which is approximately 3 metres wide.
A free car park is available on the Museum premises. Designated parking spaces for disabled visitors are not currently available. The route from the car park to the Museum buildings is paved, while the car park itself has a concrete block surface. A 1.5-metre-wide pedestrian pathway with a gentle, step-free transition connects the parking area with the Museum buildings.
As the Museum is located within the former Warsaw-Mokotów Detention Centre and the historic site is currently undergoing extensive restoration and redevelopment, most Museum buildings do not yet meet accessibility requirements for visitors with disabilities.
At present, the only fully accessible building is the administration building, which was renovated and officially opened for use in 2025.
Once the redevelopment works have been completed and the remaining buildings receive occupancy permits, they will comply with accessibility requirements for people with disabilities.
- Communication Accessibility
Visitors are welcome to enter the Museum with an assistance dog or guide dog.
Please note that Polish Sign Language (PJM) interpretation is not currently available at the Museum.
